Basically:
I started the Momentum of Failure as a run-of-the-mill re-posting blog in February 2008 but turned it quickly into a unique lifestyle site acting as a repository for one kid in Denver, CO sharing thoughts on the world. Through hands-on experience with items ranging from jackets to snowshoes and from jerky to Scouts and the building of a community through the 100 Days of Ties Project, The Momentum of Failure is now a place to come for honest, unabashed, and many times in need of a proofread ramblings and ideas on the style/lifestyle world and how it relates to the every man working the 9-5 making just enough to scrape by.
What’s in the name:
Days before that 2/9/09 kick off, I emailed my older brother and asked if he wanted to start a site with me focusing on all the gear and brands we like, etc. He was in, and I was about it. “So what do we name this thing, then?” He quipped back: The Momentum of Failure. Done and done. No rhyme or reason so to speak. More just, I liked how it sounded and still do.
Where I’ve Been / I’m Going:
Born in Colorado, I have only lived outside of the squared-state for a few years in the populated mess of New York City. It really wasn’t the life I wanted, so I moved back to Denver to take the reigns on trying to drum up interest in here. It’s not looked to so much as any sort of hub of anything, but I love Denver and will always love it and am going to try until I die to make it a bigger name in the style / lifestyle / mens fashion / etc / etc world. So far, so good. One thing Denver needs to overcome though, and this is my opinion as a lifetime resident, is itself. From the music scene to style and from the restaurants to the publications, no one seems to be helping anyone but themselves. I aim to change this.
